Brigades of the Civil Defense and the Army of the Dominican Republic intensified the search this morning for a woman who disappeared on Saturday afternoon, while she was with 30 other hikers from the Pinalito dam in Constanza to the Blanco hydroelectric plant in the Monseñor Nouel province.
Trinidad de la Cruz, 51, was last seen at 6:45 when her companions noticed that she was not with the group, reported Delfín Rodríguez, director of operations of the Civil Defense.
Preliminary information indicates that Mrs. De la Cruz, along with others, was walking the trail from the Pinalito Dam to the Blanco Hydroelectric Plant in Bonao when her presence went unnoticed and her trace was subsequently lost.
The latest report on the search for the hiker reveals that the teams have been following possible tracks and found the cap that the hiker was wearing during the walk.
Rodríguez also indicated that the route of the group of hikers where the woman went missing is between the Pinalito Hydroelectric Plant, the Pinalito Dam, and the Blanco River.
